Nila Sports has been building and installing custom lighting solutions for over a decade. From the smallest gymnasium to the main chamber of the US House of Representatives, we've worked with each customer to design and implement a lighting plan that works for them.

Since its opening day in 2003, the Anschutz Entertainment Group's field has been primarily lit by 396 metal halide light fixtures. Increasing power costs drove AEG to consider upgrading their antiquated lighting system with state of the art LED fixtures. They auditioned a number of different lights before choosing Nila Sports. Nila's install provided them with a turnkey solution that includes fewer lights, zero maintenance, total control, and brighter light levels that exceed the FIFA standard.
The Dignity Health Sports Park staff faced a difficult task in upgrading the facility's lighting. They not only needed a new generation of lights, but also a new lighting design for their field that would improve modelling while also being more pleasing for players and fans. Nila Sports accepted the challenge and produced a design that is both efficient and elegant. The field now has an even 200 footcandles from goal to goal utilizing only the existing lighting positions. Nila Sports fabricated everything else that was needed to complete the install, and even provided for the safe disposal and recycling of the toxic metal halide fixtures and bulbs.
308 daylight-balanced SL100s were installed. They produce 15% brighter light levels than the metal halide lights they replaced, despite the fact that we installed 88 fewer lights than had been utilized in the past. And those levels appear even brighter due to the fact that Nila’s fixtures produce broad-spectrum light, unlike the metal halide fixtures. Power savings are even more impressive. Dignity Health Sports Park will use 62% less power than before if the lights are used in the same way as the metal halide fixtures. Since Nila's fixtures give the facility improvements like instant-on and individual control across a full dim range, they stand to save even more.
Our marquee fixture was the obvious choice for such an intensive application. The fixtures provide superior color rendering for television cameras and flicker-free operation for rock solid instant replays. AEG opted for a wired control system with several control stations at the facility. They're so happy with the lights that we're also installing them on the practice fields at Dignity Health Sports Park.
The Reno Events Center was built in 2005, but it was never intended to host televised sporting events. As the 2012-2013 home of the NBA D-League tournament, the NBA wanted them to upgrade their lighting system for the HD broadcasts of the games. Nila Sports provided a solution for the duration of the tournament that could easily be loaded in and out.
The lighting for the tournament was designed by Rob Baxter. Mr. Baxter is the lighting designer for all NBA Special Events, including the All-Star Weekend. He needed big improvements to the color rendering, coverage, and energy consumption of the tungsten and metal halide fixtures currently in use at the Reno Events Center. He tapped Nila Sports as the lighting provider for the tournament and worked with us to create the optimal installation for the event.
115 tungsten-balanced SL25s were installed in place of the existing tungsten and metal halide light fixtures. The installation was completed in a single eight hour shift. Nila's fixtures produced an even 60 footcandles over the entire court and provided superior color rendering for network television. The use of the SL25s resulted in an astonishing 88% reduction in energy consumption!
The SL25 fixtures used for the D-League tournament were equipped with standard yokes and C-clamps to facilitate an easy load-in and load-out. Per NBA specifications, they were tungsten-balanced to match the warmth of traditional NBA lighting installations. Lighting control chores were handled by a standard DMX control board, just as they would at any other NBA game. Instant replays showed off the flicker-free output of the fixtures.
When The Master's College decided to renovate the Robert K. Bross gymnasium in 2011, they had no plans to update the lighting in the facility, but as the renovations continued, they realized that the dim and power-hungry fluorescent fixtures that had served the space since 1967 were overdue for an update. Nila's installation has provided them with brighter light levels that conformed to NCAA standards, lower power bills, and the control they needed to use the facility for worship and theatre as well as sporting events and practice.
As an older facility, the gymnasium was equipped with basic fluorescent lighting. Nila was challenged to use existing power feeds and no control wiring in the facility. We opted to light the space with 36 tungsten-balanced SL25s that could be plugged into the AC outlets that had previously fed power to the large fluorescent fixtures. We also installed a wireless control system that allows gym users access to simplified, wall-mounted controls while giving the control booth the ability to set lighting cues for any use case scenario.
The Nila upgrade has exceeded all expectations for the project. Light levels on the court are now more than double what they were under the fluorescent lights. Our SL25s are fully dimmable and individually controllable, making the space usable for worship services, theatre, live sporting events, and video streaming. Electrical costs for lighting the space have been cut by more than 25%.
The smaller of our Nila Sports fixtures was the perfect solution for the gymnasium. The Master's University lights feature instant-on (no warm-up time), wireless DMX control, high-intensity tungsten-matched output, simple rigging, long lifespans (est. 60,000 hours of use) and Nila's famous "bullet-proof" fixture design.
The management at indoor ski park, Ski Dubai, were tasked with upgrading their lighting to increase light levels so that their ski slopes looked sparkling white 365 days a year. Due to their unique, insulated environment, they needed fixtures that would be direct replacements for the metal halide fixtures they'd installed in 2005.
The Ski Dubai structure is built atop Dubai's Mall of the Emirates. The attic space above the slopes reaches temperatures in excess of 100° F while the slopes must be kept well below freezing. This created a challenge no other LED lighting manufacturer could match. Nila Sports designed the SKI2 fixture specifically for the Ski Dubai park as a replacement for the existing, icicle-clad, metal halide fixture boxes.
375 daylight-balanced Nila SKI-2 fixtures were installed in place of the existing metal halide fixtures in the venue ceiling. Our fixtures produced an even 40 footcandles over the entire ski slope, doubling the light levels produced by the metal halide fixtures. In addition, our SKI-2 fixtures utilize less than 80,000 watts for a 50% reduction in energy consumption. The install exceeded the expectations of the Ski Dubai management team. They were all amazed at how much brighter and whiter their indoor ski slope appeared under the new lights.
The SKI-2 fixture was developed specifically for Ski Dubai after initial consultations revealed the unique needs of the facility. The fixture is designed to pull in cold air from the ski area to cool the LEDs with solid state SynJet active coolers while separate power supply modules are housed in the attic above. The lights are controlled via an individually-addressable wireless network so control wiring didn't have to be run in the expansive facility. Wireless stations allow for control of the fixtures from various spots in the park.
